[SV] Confrontation — Description

“Are you sure?”
Those words echoed in Astraeus’ mind for what felt like a millennium. He had told Twilight Sparkle about this before. While she never said she didn’t believe him, she never acted upon it. At least, until now.
“I’m sure,” Astraeus murmured, dipping his head as his gaze bore into Twilight Sparkle’s eyes. “The vision I had last night was clear; it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen.” He paused, taking a slow breath to steady himself. “I know that you are busy, ever since Princess Celestia and Princess Luna disappeared-” Astraeus studied Twilight Sparkle’s reaction closely, catching the sorrow in her eyes as his sentence trailed off. Luna and Celestia had disappeared months ago, without a trace. The royal guards of Canterlot had searched for them, but to no avail. Twilight Sparkle was alone, leading Canterlot, and with her friends living so far away, it had taken a toll on her.

“I know, Astraeus. I’m grateful for your insight, I truly am… I truly would offer to help you, but I just can’t-” Astraeus felt his chest tighten as Twilight Sparkle murmured. He spoke up loudly, startling her. “Then send me out on my own! I am more than capable, your majesty. I will bring back the princesses; I know this is related to them.” He stepped forward, pleading. “Please, Twilight. I beg of you.”

Twilight Sparkle was quiet for what felt like forever. Her gaze looked away, focused on something in the distance that Astraeus couldn’t pinpoint. He feared he had pushed her too far. He did not need another lecture right now, not when time was fleeting. He needed Twilight’s assistance now, or never.
“Princess Celestia sent me away when I was young, just before Nightmare Moon returned to Equestria,” Twilight Sparkle began.
Astraeus felt confusion stir in his stomach. He remembered Nightmare Moon through stories his father had told him. He remembered Luna’s troubles and how she had turned into Nightmare Moon in her deepest moments of tragedy.
“If it wasn’t for my friends and me, Equestria might’ve been very different.” Twilight Sparkle continued. She exhaled a deep sigh and returned her gaze to Astraeus. “You may go, under one condition.”
Astraeus’ eyes lit up. His chest fluttered with hope, so much so that he didn’t even pick up on her conditions: “Don’t go alone. I will send Thermal Eruption with you to keep you safe. Make some allies, friends. You cannot do this alone.”
